What kind of water heater is right for my application?
Standard Draft: Old faithful standard draft water heaters are the most common application.
Pro: Since standard draft are the most common they are also the lowest priced option.
Con: They are constructed from steal and tanks tend to leak after only 8 years. Standard vent are also the least efficient option for hot water.
Power Vent: Power Vent water heaters are modified water tanks with direct venting to the exterior of the structure.
Pro: Higher efficiency than standard vent, saving money on utility bills. Power vent can also be relocated easier because of direct venting.
Con: Still a bulky tank unit very prone to corrosion. Due to the electrical components this unit is more expensive than a standard vent.
Tank-less Water Heaters:
Tankless water heaters are the
way of the future like the conversion
to cd’s from cassette tapes.
Pro: Endless hot water/Highest efficiency/longest life expectancy / saving space with a small wall hung unit.
Con: Units are still expensive.
